Born and raised in Cadillac, Joel Nichols is well known around town, especially as one of CHS’s biggest fans since graduating in 2004. Music is a huge part of his life—he’s proudly sung for years with the Patriot Choir, a group of developmentally disabled adults from across the region. Joel is the son of Ken and Judy Nichols and has two brothers, two sisters-in-law, four nieces, six nephews, and three dogs. He keeps busy volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, working at After 26 Café, and participating in Footprints in Time and Temple Hill Baptist Church’s softball league. Joel is excited to take part in Dancing with the Y alongside Tabitha Cecil and choreographer Mackenzie Gabara. He’s grateful to the YMCA for this opportunity—and says he’s in it to win it.
