NASM MMA Conditioning Specialist

TRX Basics

I’m an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. I am also an NASM MMA conditioning Specialist, certified in TRX Basics, and a martial arts practitioner in Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.  I am a firm believer in master the basics of movement patterns so when executing advanced movements, they will be done safely and become more effective.  You can say that functional human performance is where my main focus in fitness lies, from the basic of activities of daily living to the extremes of athletic performance.

I have been part of the Mesick Track Team for four years, and coach all events related to track and field. I have coached five state champions in the 100m relay, 100m hurdles, long jump, and 300m hurdles in the last three years.  In that time frame, three athletes have gone on to run at the collegiate level, two of which have earned scholarships at their respective institutions.

When I’m not helping you reach your fitness goals, coaching, or pursuing my own goals, I am usually found in my wood shop building small boats, spending time with my wife and four kids, or learning new techniques to make us better humans. I also like being out in the great outdoors camping, fishing, biking, running, and yes…even hanging out relaxing by a lake or stream.  Sometimes you just need to reboot!

Fitness runs in my family…

My father’s hobby was body building, two of my uncles are professional bodybuilders, as well as my brother.

At the age of 16, I got involved with Track and Field.  My events were the 100m and the 200m sprints.  I lived it.  Sprinting made me feel so alive!!

At the age of 24, I graduated from college as a language teacher and I was in the best shape of my life with a combination of running and lifting.

Being a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor combines my two passions of teaching and fitness.  I do belive there is not an age limit on being fit.  I really enjoy customizing programs accroding to my clients’ needs in order to help them achieve their goals.  I like to be a part of the process of my clients’ transformation which will let them see the best versions of themselves.

I am a certified Personal Trainer and a Group Exercise Instructor, both of which I obtained through SCW Fitness Education.  I keep myself updated by attending SCW Fitness Conventions.

My favorite line is: “If I’m not getting any younger, I’m going to get stronger.”
