CAMP STAFF

The YMCA at Camp Torenta Staff are carefully screened for working with children.  The camp is under the leadership and supervision of YMCA Program Director, Michael Kelso and YMCA Executive Director, Chris Gentry.  Both have extensive camp and youth work experience.  Ryan Davis serves as our Camp Program Director and brings a wide variety of camp and outdoor leadership to the program.  Counselors are at least eighteen years of age.

The staff team participates in a week- long staff training and orientation session.  All staff are certified in CPR and First Aid.  The waterfront staff are all currently certified in Life guarding.  Regular staff team meetings are conducted throughout the summer to coordinate programs and communication.

FRIDAY FAMILY COOKOUT

On Friday join us for dinner! The whole family is invited for a camp cookout. Campers stay at camp to prepare for the arrival of their families for dinner at 4:30 p.m. It’s free for immediate family members – just let us know how many are coming. You’ll get to meet the staff, enjoy camp activities and share a meal on the shores of Lake Mitchell!

CAMP FOOD

Each day camp day includes lunch so you don’t have to pack it in! And of course we’ll be well taken care of for cookouts and overnights
